The newest issue of Harper's magazine: Why Germany kept its industrial base
A fascinating essay about Germany's system of worker representation in industry groups and on corporate boards.

Unfortunately, Harper's doesn't put its current issue online, but it's available on newsstands at the moment.

1. That mag is worth a buy at the stand...
Funny, I used to buy one before boarding a plane back in the day when I had a job that caused me to travel occasionally. I thought it would be a real treat to buy Harpers for a flight, or the New Yorker, and just for balance, Mad Magazine. :-)

2. Oh yes, and there's a report on the suspicious "suicides" at Guantanamo
It's too bad Harper's isn't better known. I suppose it's too intellectual for a lot of people.

3. Harper's is also remarkably inexpensive to subscribe to.
And, it makes you think!

Lapham's Quarterly is a great deal for people that like to read too.
