And, here it is. So many of the letters to the editor these days are critical of this administration that I find it impossible to believe that his approval ratings are as high as they report. I refuse to accept that people are really that dumb! Of course, as gas prices climb, even hard core repubs start squawkin!


Commander in chief epitomizes arrogance

I don't think it's surprising that President Bush's approval rating is low; what I find surprising is that there is still anyone out there who approves of the job he is doing. When the Supreme Court appointed him as president, there was a large surplus and jobs were plentiful. Not only did he turn the record surplus into a record deficit (tax cuts for the rich), but he has also trashed the environment, eliminated important safeguards in communications and accounting rules, stomped on civil rights and his handling of the Iraq situation is pathetic.

The arrogance of this administration thinking it could waltz into Iraq and "liberate" the country in a few weeks with "Operation Shock and Awe" is embarrassing. Of course, if you understand that it is all about oil, it makes a little more sense.

Follow the money if you want to understand why this administration does anything. Anyone who continues to support this administration either isn't paying attention or is already on its payroll. Go Kerry.

NYT, May 20, 2006 - A New York jury has convicted former President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney of 3,000 counts of negligent homicide for their dereliction of duty that led to the 9/11 attacks. They were also found guilty on some 1,200 counts of reckless endangerment in the needless deaths of Americans killed during the Iraq conflict.

Bush and Cheney, along with several former top aides, will serve twenty-year sentences in Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison. "Lenient, considering the crimes", said the foreman of the trial jury. "We had recommended the Judge impose the same sentence Saddam got."
