We should have lauded his mother's choice to have her baby despite what the doctor said, and hoped that she'd support every woman's right to make a choice--whether she agrees with it or not.

She is a very fortunate woman to have survived and to have raised her son. However, there needs to be recognition of the many women and their unborn children who died for making the same choice.
She was just one of the lucky ones.
