Both Parties Seek Ways to Channel Populist Ire.
The remarkable Republican victory in Massachusetts demonstrated convincingly that the deep populist anger fueling the Tea Party movement has migrated from the political fringe to the mainstream, forcing both parties to confront how to channel a growing mood of public resentment to their own ends.

1. the problem being that neither party is remotely populist
hence it's more like "how can we exploit the people who are pissed off at the crappy job we've done" :grr:

2. Tea party is the fringe. The anger is and was mainstream.
The anger is what got Obama elected a year ago. The morons in DC made the mistake of thinking it was gone away.
