New scanners break child porn laws
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/jan/04/new-scanners-child-porn-laws

The rapid introduction of full body scanners at British airports threatens to breach child protection laws which ban the creation of indecent images of children, the Guardian has learned.

Privacy campaigners claim the images created by the machines are so graphic they amount to "virtual strip-searching" and have called for safeguards to protect the privacy of passengers involved.

Ministers now face having to exempt under 18s from the scans or face the delays of introducing new legislation to ensure airport security staff do not commit offences under child pornography laws.

They also face demands from civil liberties groups for safeguards to ensure that images from the £80,000 scanners, including those of celebrities, do not end up on the internet. The Department for Transport confirmed that the "child porn" problem was among the "legal and operational issues" now under discussion in Whitehall after Gordon Brown's announcement on Sunday that he wanted to see their "gradual" introduction at British airports.

3.  They ought to put those of us who don't mind
being body scanned on one plane and those who do mind put on a different plane. That should settle it.

4. Well apparently you don't have any issues
that might cause further harassment from TSA screeners but some of us do.

9. My solution settles the issue,..right?
I don't mind being body scanned and fly with a sense of safety than worrying about what that guy/gal sitting next to me has in his or her shorts, besides their privates.

8. Party Central on your plane, baby!
Would love to be a fly on the wall of that plane. "I'll show you my scan if you show me yours."

"Damn. I wondered where that shot glass went!"

Of course, if the scans could discover oddities, like cancer, we would all buy a ticket just for a chance to be scanned. Would be cheaper than paying for it with current medical prices.

5. What amazes me is that the underwear bomber fit all the pieces they said they were looking for
And they still didn't get him. At that rate what makes us think these bored low line tsa agents will pick up a bomb?
