You have heard how the big lie is most believable?
Its true.
The big lie has a lifetime of its own but they grow old enough so that it won't matter if the truth is exposed.
For example you have to be on the fringe to believe the Warren report but there are few people who really care anymore.

Today people speak of the 9-11 facts that don't add up or Paul Wellstone and are called conspiracy theorists. Enough people have come forward regarding the absence of Iraq WMD and the reality of Pakistani WMD that the powers that be now claim that the slam dunk intelligence "may have been flawed".

But people are willing belive just about anything with enough fear and terror in the title. We really don;t need brainwashing anymore when a light rinse will do the trick against the backdrop of hysteria and gore.

There are more than a few people who have the medical/military/special effects knowledge to see the truth behind the latest terrorist sensation.

Remember the alleged video of Osama talking on a couch in front of a coffee table about 9-11? Most of us realized it did not look anything like him. It was a blithering amateur attempt to shape opinion despite the money behind the effort.

The same is true of the beheading. Nevermind that Berg is dressed in a Gitmo prison uniform, nevermind all the terrorists are masked but still appear very Caucasion, nevermind experts doubt the authenticity of the accent, nevermind there is a lip synch problem on the video...

EVEN a hunter knows that cutting either the juggler vein or carotid arteries will make up to a 2 foot fountain of blood and an immediate mess that is clearly absent in the video.

Comon CIA, I really would expect a better product despite the fact it is not to be viewed by John Q Public. As in a horror picture albeit in this case without the blood, the true horror is from the unseen.

A big lie to detract from the debate of how sadistic the US occupation has become is clever and tiemely. Being on the heals of the journalist Perle's execution makes it almost automaticly believable despite the visual/audio flaws.

My brief experience with the CIA taught me several obvious things.
They consider ethics to be for boy scouts and suckers.
They love the hair brained scheme.
They hold that appearance is paramount to truth.
They will run with a credo far beyond its functionality.
They worship secrecy over patriotism and Constitutionality.
They believe long range vision is solely theirs to construct.
And of course the big lie and the unthinkable guarantee short term success everytime.

The truth that can not be challenged is that Berg is dead. The family insisted upon proof. Now berg is being mentioned in the same breathe as Mussaowi.

Could the CIA do such a thing to take the heat off their own?
You bet your sweet bippy they could.
