Great dinnertime talk with the Repubs
When you guests are over this Thanksgiving and the talk turns to politics, if there are any Repubs there, hit them with this,

The most rigidly conservatives members of the Republican National Committee are circulating a proposal to establish a purity test for the party's candidates.
If adopted, the party would withhold money from any contender who disagreed with conservative principles on more than two of 10 essential issues identified by the right-wingers.
"The problem is that conservatives have lost trust in the Republican Party that we will govern as conservatives," argues James Bopp Jr., an RNC member from Indiana who has spearheaded the purity-test push. "I think that loss of trust is warranted to a certain extent because of the fact that we in the final several years of the Bush administration were supporting increased government, earmarks and, ultimately, bailouts."

2. I think I ought to take a copy along and check them out.
If they waver, I can ask follow up questions to see how firm their faith is in the tenets of their faith, republicanism.

4. Ronald Reagan himself would fail the purity test. Check out Olbermann.

I find it very amusing that the standard bearer for conservative politics would fail a conservative litmus test. It backs what I've said for years--Reagan, his policies and legacy are a fabrication of RW talk shows. It's further proof that if you repeat a lie often enough, some people will believe it.

I have some real RW BILs. If they try to strike up any argument regarding politics this Thanksgiving, I'm ready to throw this back at them.

5. As would 40+ republicans in Congress.
They're growing the party by throwing people out. More power to 'em!
