Excerpt from article. There are several videos in the article too.Richard Cohen of the Southern Poverty Law Center is urging CNN to take Lou Dobbs off the air. Cohen isn't the only person urging CNN to do something about Lou Dobbs.
MoveOn.org has posted a petition asking CNN to fire Lou Dobbs. It might be in CNN's best interest to do so. A number of people quit watching CNN altogether in 2007 after Dobbs hosted a "special investigation" into the shooting of two Mexican men trying to cross the border. When the investigation revealed that the border guards responsible for the deaths shot at the men when they were trying to surrender and then tampered with the crime scene, Dobbs ignored the facts that his 'investigation' revealed.
Lou Dobbs defended his views of the birther conspiracy on CNN claiming that he has said repeatedly that President Obama is an American citizen. Watch the video here.

Dobbs appears proud that right wing pundit Ann Coulter and Fox's Bill O'Reilly defended Dobbs.
Dobbs has been under fire for his encouragement of the birther conspiracy. In the next video you will see him defending himself, showing a couple of times when he stated President Obama is a citizen of the United States but then he goes on to intimate that the birth certificate that President Obama has produced and which the state of Hawaii has authenticated is not good enough.

On his radio show, he was more explicit about his feelings about the President of the United States' legitimacy as an American citizen. On July 15th he said,
Guess what folks, there are some issues here that should be really resolved. What's really crazy about this is all the President of the United States has to do is produce a birth certificate! We have a document issue. You suppose he's un- no, I won't even use the word undocumented, it wouldn't be right.
Dobbs is referring to illegal aliens, his favorite subject to rant on and ignore facts about.
