Arm the Senate! -By E.J. Dionne Jr.

Isn't it time to dismantle the metal detectors, send the guards at the doors away and allow Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights by being free to carry their firearms into the nation's Capitol?

I've been studying the deep thoughts of senators who regularly express their undying loyalty to the National Rifle Association, and I have decided that they should practice what they preach. They tell us that the best defense against crime is an armed citizenry and that laws restricting guns do nothing to stop violence.

If they believe that, why don't they live by it?

1. Well said by Mr. Dionne, but...
using things like logical consistency and competent syntax simply does not register with the party that thinks appeasing "birthers" and nominating barely functional morons for high office is a winning plan.

Pointing out examples of GOP and right wing hypocrisy is getting to the point that it is like saying "the sky is blue" or "water is wet"...The Going Out-of-business Party can twist on their own entrails as long as they wish...I am not going to volunteer to cut them loose anytime soon!

2. Members of the US Senate have a long history of hypocrisy on many subjects

Senator Diane Feinstein used to have a concealed weapons permit, but she's dead-set against ordinary people getting them.

4. Let's go ahead and demilitarize the airports first
since more people use those.

I'm really sick of going through that concentration camp BS every time I'm required to fly. It has no place in a free society, IMO.

8. well, I was thinking more along the lines of being able to take common toiletries
and the like, although if someone has a concealed carry permit, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to do that as well. :)
