(CNN) – A week after a high-profile uproar with comedian David Letterman over the late-night host's joke about her daughter, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is again sharply responding to the appearance of her children in the public sphere.

Palin's latest response comes after liberal Alaskan Blogger Linda Kellen Biegel doctored a photograph of the former Republican vice presidential candidate with her 1-year-old son Trig, who suffers from Down Syndrome.

Biegel, who blogs in support of the Alaska Democratic Party under the name "Celtic Diva," superimposed a picture of conservative Alaskan radio host Eddie Burke over Trig's face in an apparent effort to show how close the radio host is with the Alaskan governor.

"Recently we learned of a malicious desecration of a photo of the Governor and baby Trig that has become an iconic representation of a mother's love for a special needs child," Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapelton said in a statement provided to CNN. "The mere idea of someone doctoring the photo of a special needs baby is appalling."

OK, so a few things really get me in this article...

1. The language used to whine about this attack puts here in the realm of demi-god??? Desecration of a photo???? They're definitely going for making her into a religious figure...
oh and the 'iconic representation of a mother's love....' Hmmmm... This is the first time I've seen the photo, so I'm not sure how it can be iconic, but they're certainly trying to get something to stick.

2. The photo was not about her child. It was about Palin and a radio host's relationship being a little too cuddly wuddly...

3. 'Babies and children are off limits': That is just .... wow... how quickly the cons forget how they treated Chelsea Clinton. And quite frankly am surprized they haven't been attacking Obama's kids yet (this is something I assumed would start happening based on historical precendence). I would not be surprized in the slightest if El Rushbo Oxyaddict came out railing against the photo as well (despite his Chelsea - dog comments in the past).

3a. Funny how Palin parades her family around in the election for political points, but when other use those very same children she paraded around, they are 'off-limits'. Nice double standard there...

4. Some of the comments from conservatives are just pure comedy (from the 'can they really be that ignorant' standpoint). You should really read some of them...

5. She hasn't been in the news for a few days and w/ MJ's death, she might be feeling the spot light is drifting to far from the Beauty (Drama) Queen...

And use of the term shows the bankruptcy of the conservative/rightwing movement: they really do think of their leaders as God-appointed semi-deities, on a holy mission.

I think that's why they constantly accuse the liberals of thinking of Obama as the messiah president - which we don't - simply because that's how they felt about Reagan, Bush, and Bush, so they assume we must feel the same way.

I don't know any liberal - and I know a lot who are Christians - who associates any kind of holiness or divinity or even God-choseness to Obama.

She is such a narcissist, it's hard for me to imagine that she would shut up for anybody. Maybe if McCain's staff included a kneecap-cracker. But even that might not stop her.
