Ahmedinajad's victory is not good news for Iranian kids on death row
... as Vancouver resident Nazanin Afshin-Jam, founder of Stop Child Executions in Iran, has pointed out on numerous occasions, Iran also has a dreadful record when it comes to sentencing children to death.

In 2007, Amnesty International issued a bulletin calling for the need for urgent legal reform. It mentioned that there were, at that time, at least 23 children on death row in Iran.

The most recent Amnesty International report on Iran states that at least 346 people were executed last year, including eight child offenders. Last December, Iran voted against a United Nations resolution calling for a moratorium on executions ...

The apparent reelection of Ahmadinejad, a hardcore Muslim fundamentalist, means that Amnesty International and Afshin-Jam will have no shortage of work in the future.
