I still hear Senators as well as Joe Sixpack utter the phrase,
"the last time I checked its still a free country".
What are they thinking and when was the last time they checked?
Speaking only from personal experience I can not truthfully
say we are free.
For example my car gets searched twice a day.
If one wants to keep their job they have to pee in a cup
in front of people.
If one wants to demonstrate in DC one can be arrested for not having a permit to parade,
even if only six people are lounging
at a fountain. If you are lucky you are herded to an
isolated free speech zone.
When I go to vote I have no confidence that it will be counted and assume
the guy with with more lawyers,
judges and Texas voting machine corporate pals will win.
Nobody I know voted for a nuclear war yet 250,000 times more
radiation is now spread all over Iraq compared to the radation released in the Nagasaki blast.
The media is a joke but sometimes plays catch up with the facts
only when its too late to do anything about it.
This is the same media that does not believe in political assasinations in the US and
still makes fun of people who claim they see somthing strange in the
sky whether it is a chem trail or ufo. Opps there goes my irrelevant
alarm...
Anyway even in stores if a machine beeps when I walk in I am expected
to allow them to search me. Well at least they tried at Hollywood
video store. I was told "you need to empty your pockets".
I told him "I need you to use a breath mint". My refusal led to a
corporate letter saying I am banned from their stores nation wide.
Free at last.
No I do not think we are as free as we were 20 years ago.
We have been warned by people we know to shut up
and not be unamerican.
Ike warned us. JFK, RFK, MLK paid with their lives.
We pay for the lies
and are not free
the last time I checked.
