GOP Stupidly Attacking Dodd, Choosing Kudlow to Challenge
This is not a defense of Chris Dodd. He’s toast in Democratic and Republican circles. Instead it is an examination of the GOP and its love affair with Larry Kudlow as Dodd’s replacement, and how that will turn out to be a failure of ethics on Kudlow’s part, and of judgement on the part of the GOP brass. Par for the course.

1. I wouldn't call Dodd toast yet.
He's done some really really stupid shit and people here are justifiably (IMO) pissed at him but he's a long time incumbent in a blue State with a long time to go until election day. I'm never surprised at how easy voters forget the past.

If the pukes run Kudlow against him Dodd will win handily. The only people in the State that even know who the hell Kudlow is are the rich shits on the Gold Coast and I think the CNBC antics aren't helping his case there either.

IMO the only one the GOP could run against Dodd and win with is former puke rep Rob Simmons and I think he's even got artificially high polling numbers.

Dodd's biggest threat is a primary challenge and I seriously doubt he'd pull a Lieberman and run as an independent. It would be interesting though in an analytical sense to see if the voters of CT would fall for that crap again. I don't think they would but I've overestimated the intelligence of my fellow CT citizens often enough in the past.

2. I'm looking for the GOP
to run so high a level an attack as to encourage a Dem challenger, and for the early polling to go so far against Dodd that he bows out. I'm guessing raising those little girls in that cottage in Ireland will start to seem attractive.
