Palin hurts poor and disadvantaged kids

Sarah Palin, Alaska's Governor, would throw poor and disadvantaged children under the bus to make a cheap political point. Her hypocrisy and betrayal of the public trust is a fine indication of her leadership. Palin has announced she would not accept nearly one-third of the federal stimulus money offered to the state. Democrats, and those who care about the people in the state, claim the move will hurt Alaskans.

The state is due about $930.7 million from the $787 billion stimulus package passed in February, the Anchorage Daily News reports. But Palin is rejecting about $288 million of that amount, which includes money for schools, energy programs and social services.

The biggest hit is education, which was set to gain $172 million before Palin's announcement. Various education officials in Alaska aren't too happy with the move and have started lobbying state lawmakers to reinstate the money, the Daily News reports.

What is funny is that some Republicans look towards this smug, self-serving and irresponsible individual as the leader of their party.

Good news if your a Democrat, bad news for Republicans. Palin joins a list of other smug Republican governors with their eye on the White House. These sleazy politicians would betray the poor and disadvantaged in an attempt to create political buzz for a potential run in 2012. Americans are not stupid, and not without compassion. Denying funding for the education of special needs kids will win Republican leaders no love from the American people.

1. These Republicon Governors see the stimulus package as
a buffet for them to devour. All the while they keep the starving masses from eating at the same buffet.

3. Strange...Candidate Palin said that disabled kids & their parents would have
a "friend in Washington" if she were elected. Looks like they have a friend in DC, but not Juneau.

4. The President should
make these Governors personally show up at the White House to pick up the checks. Then turn the media loose on them.
