Daily Show vs CNBC.... Jon Stewart's take on Santelli and CNBC... priceless
Edited on Thu Mar-05-09 10:32 AM by RedEarth
Following Rick Santelli’s Rant Heard Round the World, he was booked on TDS with Jon Stewart. There was apparently a last minute cancellation, and now, there seems to be a very nasty pissing match between CNBC andThe Daily Show.

Didn’t the John McCain/Letterman snafu teach people anything?

Years ago, the expression was “Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel” (meaning newspapers). The modern, updated version is “Never pick a fight with people who have ascerbic, award winning comedy writers, a broad TV reach, and a strong internet presence…”

video here......

1. Stewart hung them out to dry! It was AWESOME. The whole network is a bunch
of Wall St. suckups and RW trickle-down jerks. It was a beautiful thing to watch him chronicle how completely
WRONG and WORTHLESS they have been for the last three years. They so totally deserve it too. Esp. Santelli, IMO.

2. Any activity on media ownership and integrity in congress?
You know, THE issue setting the stage and rules of discussion for all other issues.

Capital business interests have been hogging the microphone for the past few decades strangling popular and labor interests, and look at the depressing result.

Have businesses a first amendment right? The screw-up by the supreme court in 1886 interpreting the 14th Amendment is the primary cause of business monsters riding rough-shod around the world in imperial armies IMO.

Will take a major fix, however.

3. I can see it now. CNBC will dump Santelli because he is......
becoming an embarrassment and he will rant on Rush's show how Obama got him fired. Guaranteed to become the next Joe the Plumber for the repugs. Here comes "Rick the financial analyst" show, books, tour, speaking engagements ad infinitum.....

4. I wish the mainstream media had 1/10th the balls of TDS...
Stewart is one of a select few who have the stones to actually call people out on their bullshit.

We need to shit can all of the news anchors and replace them with Stewart, Maher, Olbermann and Maddow. I know that people on the right would be screaming that Olbermann and Maddow are lefties, but they have collectively given Obama more grief in less than 50 days than ALL of the MSM gave Bush in 8 YEARS!!!

This country needs an information revolution to take back the public discourse from the mindless drones and minions of the corporate criminal class and get it back into the hands of the people, where it truly belongs. Enough is enough...CNBC with their horrifically wrong and harmful "advice" / "opinions" (Kudlow, Kramer, Santelli, Bartilomo, et al.)....Fox with their half-breed idiot brigade (O'Reilly, Hannity, Cavuto, the entire AM line-up, Megyn)...AM radio wastelands of the GOP Overlord...

I feel like I am in the middle of a never-ending Howard Beale moment!
