Coleman-Franken trial: Going through the motions with nary an agreement
By Jay Weiner | Published Fri, Jan 23 2009 3:22 pm

... Long story short: The sides agreed on virtually nothing when it came to key facts ...

As he listened to Langdon, Franken lawyer Marc Elias’ jaw was open, as if he were watching a high-wire act between the IDS Building and the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Minneapolis.

Finally, Elias rose to state: “I’m somewhat speechless and amazed … While I have read much of death-bed conversions, this is quite dramatic in its completeness.”

And then Elias went through a lengthy historical trip down memory lane on the Coleman side’s back-and-forth position on absentee ballots since early November ...

2. That is the Coleman strategy
Make this process drag on as long as possible while wearing down Franken's team, hoping that they will agree to a compromise that will lead to further legal action.

3. Yep, they would rather have one senator for MN for 6 years than seat Franken
As I keep hearing that Franken is the new Hillary in GOP talking points.

5. You misread the clip
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 09:39 PM by dflprincess
The snip started out saying "The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) welcomes former Senator Norm Coleman (R-MN) to the fray.."

but continues

"as a consultant and strategic advisor to the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC)."

Norm is working for a the Republican group.

7. The way it was written it was an easy error to make
I'm not so sure I wouldn't have read it that way if I hadn't heard on the local news who the weasel was working for.
