After Matthews, the PA Senate Race Against Magic Bullet Man
Arlen Specter may not be facing Chris Matthews, media icon, but he’s got some strong Democrats vying to take him on in 2010. Here’s a little about what Mr. Specter, the inventor of the “Magic bullet theory” can look forward to. We’ve got a woman, veterans, and some veteran politicians lining up to challenge, a crew that should show well.

1. Joe Sestak--he's the guy who could do it.
I'll root for the admiral.

6. Sestak
I love the guy for sure. Competent and a strong candidate in a very conservative area of PA. But a Senator? I'm going to sit for a while on that one.

7. He was a good fella on active duty, too. Very respected.
He's got the background. He knows the Hill on BOTH sides better than the incoming Senate freshman. He's testified enough, after all.

8. Oh, I know he could do the job
I've met Joe and I've been impressed. Indeed, the best thing about these potential candidates is that they are all pretty good candidates.

3. Perhaps my tongue wasn't
far enough in my cheek. I thought referring to him as "Tweetie" might have shown that.

4. I don't see you referring to him as "Tweetie," but I get your point. Thanks. nt

5. Oh, he's definitely Tweetie
He would have made a winning candidate, maybe, but we've got soem great candidates all the same. Time to knock off Specter, I'm thinking.

9. So Chris Matthews isn't going to run - THANK GOD!!!
Anyone who thinks Matthews would be a good idea probably thinks Joe Lieberman is a great democrat. Sure, Matthews was great going down the stretch with his support for Barack Obama but lets face reality - Matthews is a bandwagoneer. The guy jumps on whatever bandwagon happens to have all the popular kids, which explains why in 2004 Matthews proclaimed on his show that he voted for Bush and championed the Bush administration repeatedly throughout the years.
