I have not given up on bringing equal rights to all. I find it appalling that in this day and age we as a country can not find it in ourselves to see people as just that people. We all deserve to be able to love whom we love and create a union with whom we love. I have found partners out there that have shown me what real love looks like. This is a cause that I will not give up on. My wife and I support you and will fight for you.
2. I told myself I'd take one unadulterated day to celebrate
but I just can't do it. I'm psyched about Obama, but I can't ignore what happened in CA last night. Almost five million people voted to take away rights that GLBT people already had. The fight never stops.
It is indeed a step back but we can not give up or give in. We need to press our elected officials to do the right thing and stand against discrimination. We were told to wait until after the election to press for our equality so now that the election is over we must act and I fully expect those who told us to wait to now join us in our struggle.
11. I want to know what my family and I can do to help
Our victories yesterday were tainted by the hateful measures that passed. My family stands with ALL families and will fight for the rights of all people to live their lives as free people.
