Democrats See Opportunity In Outer Suburbs' Troubles.
"For all the emphasis on Sen. Barack Obama's chances with working-class voters in declining Rust Belt cities, the biggest swing vote in the presidential election is likely to be in outer suburban communities, where Democrats hope to capitalize on economic unease and demographic shifts to overturn traditional Republican strengths."

2. I don't think yard signs are a good barometer this time around. My
boss had her second sign stolen, and her husband's car keyed. They, and according to her, many others in the neighborhood support Obama, but don't think it's worth having their property vandalized or destroyed. I'm in red state hell, so it's doesn't surprise me that people aren't too keen on being targeted by disgruntled neighbors.

3. I was at the Whitesboro Peanut Festival on Saturday
I only saw McCain signs, yet there was a Democratic booth at the festival that had constant activity.....I asked a fellow Obama/Biden button wearer (that I bought at that booth) if people would be afraid to put out Obama signs in that area and he said yes; still, it is heartening to not see as many repuke signs as I usually do :D
