Sarah Palin survives, Joe Biden thrives in debate

By Lynn Sweet

Sarah Palin survived.

You betcha, as Palin indeed did say.

She did not prevail -- Joe Biden was too good. He did Barack Obama proud. Biden was pitch perfect. This debate may have ruined Biden's reputation for verbosity.

But Palin was left standing in her spike heels after 90 minutes on the stage at Washington University, and after some of the loopy interviews she gave in the run-up to the first and only vice presidential debate, that was some accomplishment.

(snip)
Biden won because he was better.

1. "This debate may have ruined Biden's reputation for verbosity."

I have to admit it ... he did impress me with his ability to say everything he had to in such a short period of time. He was really good tonight! :D

3. Apparently the thing was so dumbed down that that was considered "survival"
I thought is was one of the most pathetic pandering performance I can remember.

4. I alwasy loved "Joe being Joe" but tonight he did us all proud.
He was the perfect gentleman, even laughing at her "quips". I even thought at one point (forgive me Barack) maybe Joe should be running for President. He was so good.
