The extreme-right way to make a buck (Corsi, let's boycott Simon & Schuster!)
Jerome Corsi, author of a pitiful new slam on Obama, is the product of a publishing industry that feeds off extremism.

snip

"The Obama Nation" was written and printed because major American publishing houses have decided that there's money to be made in funding right-wing boutique imprints modeled after the Washington-based Regnery, which has made a small fortune stoking the hard-right furnace with combustible prose. Corsi's book is published by Threshold Editions, a division of Simon & Schuster, which hired right-wing political operative Mary Matalin to edit the imprint. Random House has a similar imprint in Crown Forum, and Penguin Group USA has Sentinel. Their business model -- and this is all about business -- is predicated on the existence of an echo chamber of right-wing radio and television shows willing to promote these publishers' products -- however noxious. Beyond that is a network of conservative book clubs and organizations willing to place the sort of advance bulk orders for controversial books that will guarantee them a place on the bestseller lists.

I'm sick of lies repeated often enough to be believed. Are you? So let's call for an all-out boycott of ALL of Simon & Schuster's books. All of them. Find their books at amazon.com and "review" them.

3. Borders is selling this tripe
They have it on a tabel so that it's the first book you see when yo walk in. It's flanked by two other books, one Obama wrote.

Instead of a boyccott, why don't we demand that Bordres put up a disclaimer - This book is FICTION. They could be persuaded to stop giving legitimacy to this type of slander.

4. Why not both?
Boycotts are a statement, a protest, civil disobedience in a way. The Repukes have used them effectively to keep something in the news. Remember the Reagan movie? We have a chance here to demolish the entire wingnut echo chamber. A lot of people don't know these books make the best seller list only because the wingnut propaganda machine buys them in bulk then gives them away. Then once on the best seller list idiots like Corsi get air time.

We can tear that entire system down.
