Kerry must give a sign that, if elected, he will purge the neocons

Online Journal Contributing Writer

February 24, 2004?From my vantage point in the nation's capital, I am increasingly becoming confident that the Democrats will oust the Bush-Cheney regime from power this coming November. However, just winning the election is only the first step for the Democrats. There must be a thorough house cleaning, a purge, if you will, during the transition of power and after the January 20, 2005, inauguration.

Of course, the Democrats will take over John Ashcroft's Justice Department and Tom Ridge's huge Homeland Security bureaucracy, both of which have become tremendous threats to our constitutional democracy. But just assuming control over cabinet departments and other federal agencies will not eliminate the scourge of the neocon apparatchiks who have, for the past four years, cast an extremely unpleasant stench over America's body politic. A total purge of the neocon political opportunists, along with their hodgepodge fascist/Trotskyite/neo-imperialist political philosophy, must be one of the first goals of a new Democratic administration.

2. I like Madsen and his articles and expertise but he stretches a couple
times in this.

When he indicates the brick wall hit by some in the senate on BCCI, he knows damn well that was the same brick wall in the senate Kerry hit including a call from Jackie Onassis who happened to be Teddy's sister in law.

Second, he makes no assertion that Kerry's former intern even KNEW her fiance back when she worked for him and finally he tries to connect Theresa Heinz to what her father did.

5. Madsen isn't looney left
He is an expert on WW2 Nazi code and has been used by authors and scholars alike for his work.

6. He's Going To Have To Prosecute and Jail
Anyone who defaced the Constitution and the foundations of this nation. Anything less is a betrayal. Starting with SCOTUS

8. SCOTUS didn't do anything illegal and actionable.
All we can do is wait for the bastards to retire or die. O'Connor is holding her retirement for after the election, apparently to deny Bush the chance to replace her. That strikes me and many others as an act of contrition for Bush v. Gore.

But Kerry won't be able to boot 'em out just because we disagree with the reasoning of Bush v. Gore, or any other given decision. It's their prerogative to decide. We need better new ones, not to worry over the old ones.
