Phillips disliked the first Bush and named the Bush boy as "unelectable" in 2000. This article is a short summary of the new book he has written. I think Phillips is out to get Bush.

1. He calls them both incompetent. I hope to see him on the Daily Show.

Maybe they'll ask him, he's a classic.

You can see his interview on C-Span's Washington Journal. And I believe he did a C-Span 2 Booknotes talk as well. He is charmingly crotchety and quite frank in his opinion of all the Bushes and all their cronies and friends. And he sites references. :evilgrin:

every once in awhile he'll come up with a real conservative whopper and I almost have to laugh--it makes me so nostalgic for the days when we used to be able to disagree with the GOP and yet have a civil discussion on the issues. There was a lot of mutual respect, and an awareness that checks and balances must be tolerated, nay, ENCOURAGED for the good of the union. Now there's so little real discourse, and always some form of fascist brutality ruining everything.

Kevin is a real conservative, not a craven neocon, and a real gentleman, and I admire that. He speaks his mind, tells the truth, and lets the chips fall where they may. It's easy for him to criticize the Bush gang, cuz he believes they are neither Republicans nor conservatives, so he's not ratting on one of his own, but weeding out an monarchy, like the Bushies want to go for, with all this Jeb in 08 nonsense. They hate Hillary I think because they imagine the Clinton's want to have a dynasty too, and they don't want a libber for a Queen. Crazy crazy stuff.

I'm reading the book and recommend it to all.
