I believe we have a candidate for the GE.
David Broder is usually right even though I know some don't like him - he is wise.

and butt kisser from way back:

David Broder on SS proposal by Sen 'DeepThroat' Bennett
Broder claims that "If they are responsible, Democrats will take Bennett at his word, come out of their defensive crouch, negotiate- and put Bush and the Republicans on the spot".

What a load of hogwash, and that's being charitable. Sen Robert F. Bennett has been a 'bait and switch' player since his Watergate salad-days ! We couldn't trust Bennett in 1974...why should he be trusted TODAY ?
