"No End To War" by PAT BUCHANAN!!! Pat enters Bizzarro World
A friend of mine emailed me this link. It's an Op-Ed piece written by Pitchfork Pat bashing the NeoCons. Scary thing is, PAT IS RIGHT on most of it.

While Pat uses his piece to criticize US support of Israel, his assertations about Perle's motives is dead-on. The Gospel of Eternal War is a scary idea.

What next?? Pat delivering the keynote speech in Boston this summer?? Have we entered Bizzarro World?

Anyhoo, here's te article.

1. No surprise here!
Pat's anti-Semitism trumps all in his little world.

Remember he is a fascist, anti-choice, R/W, rat...he doesn't like Bush sort of like the infighting in Germany before Hitler seized all power.

I mean, even a clock is right twice a day: he's also anti-Nafta.

17. you were perfectly clear in that PM you just sent me
and I quote from that PM:

Sorry. DU is so anti-Semitic I thought I'd show you something about Pat Buchanan. It is a fact that he was a Holocaust denier and is anti-Semitic. Yes, #'s of matches don't matter; the substance does.

Sorry you hate Jews.

funny thing is, you still haven't shown me anything!! :D it's a "fact" and yet you cannot share even one of them?

Gods, what is the world coming to, when I'm forced to defend Pat Buchanan, of all people?

4. I've heard that Pat is anti-semitic, but I have never actually seen it..
he criticizes Israel's policies but I've never heard him say anything about the Jewish religion or ethnicity...

and he has been SPOT ON in his criticism of the Bush Admin

:toast: to his anti-NAFTA stance

7. I agree. Nothing to show he's anti-semitic
He just tells it like it is regarding America's subservience to the Israel lobby.

Many Israelis complain that America is more pro-Israel than Israel.

His analysis of PNAC plans for Iraq invasion link to his critique of pro-Israel control of U.S. foreign policy, esp. with PNAC in charge.

15. Ignorance is bliss
type Pat Buchanan's anti-Semitism into Google and you will get pages, including articles on his anti-Black beliefs as well.

16. I was hoping you would provide them
I've read his criticisms of the Israeli gov't and the Likuds, but that isn't the same thing as anti-semitism. Has he said things derogatory about Jewish ethnicity, or the religion of Judaism?

5. Pat is right in more ways than one
His analysis of the political and economic situation is often correct and anti conventional-wisdom. For example, he predicted the Russian debt crisis in the late 90s. (He's now saying Japan will default by mid-decade.)

He has said that globalism is a sham, and of course has been against the war in Iraq from the beginning. In that, he is in league with many on the left.

He is also against Bush on immigration law. Whatever policy you favor, you must admit he's right in saying that Bush's proposal is equivalent to amnesty, and also an admission that America cannot stop the tide of illegal immigration.

I often check his columns at www.theamericancause.org. You'll see one in his archives on how Kerry can beat Bush in the electoral college.

8. Correct observations, but wrong solutions
What you say about Pat Buchanan reminds me of what some say about Marx. I am no student of political theory, but my impression is that Marx was largely correct in his perceptions of the way things were. His solutions were more controversial than his observations about the way things were. Pat B. is similar. He is right about a lot, but we do not want to put him in charge of solving the problems he accurately describes.

11. Spot on!
You are a welcome addition to our DU minions!

I like reading Pat Buchanan because he often does see things as they are when most others don't.

But I certainly wouldn't want a President Pat.

Sometimes he makes an observation that he might be thinking is derisive, but I see as laudatory. For example, he said environmentalism is a religion. He was probably thinking something like cultists, but I see it as a guiding principle that can inform all religion, new age or old.

Another thing: Pat's disagreements with Bush are shared by many 'true' conservatives. When they wake up and realize that Bush and co. are not their fellow conservatives but actually corporatists (Pat calls it the Chamber of Commerce mentality) who do not share their values, then maybe we can forge a new politics in America that cuts up the old left-right paradigm.

But our candidates must take the initiative.

12. He's been at it for over 2 years now...
He frickin' hates the Neocons, and is a distasteful, but useful temporary ally. He published Karen Kwiatkowski's 3 part story about her experience with the cabal.

20. Once again...
A distasteful, but useful, temporary ally. To date, he is the only publisher to produce Karen Kwiatkowski's 3-part piece about the Neocons, and amconmag.com is the only online venue to view it.

I think his article 'Whose War' raises many valid points, one of which is that because some of the Neocons are Jewish, to attack Neocons is to be anti-semitic. Rubbish.

You can also be anti-Zionist, and NOT anti-semitic. Just ask this Jewish doctor, Alfred M. Lilienthal.

http://alfredlilienthal.com/

The attempt to divide ranks among the anti-Bush coalition by raising the spectre of anti-semitism when assailing the rampant militarism of the Neocons will not fly. And it is being tried on various fronts, this is from Antiwar (apparently another 'conservative' website)

http://antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=1317
---------------------------------
"And if anybody should know better, it's Gen. Zinni. It is well-known that those who are labeled 'neocons' within the administration – whether the number-two official at the Pentagon, Paul Wolfowitz, or undersecretary of Defense Doug Feith – are almost always Jews. … yet Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld – neither one Jewish – as simply 'key allies.' Policy beliefs and worldviews were not different between these two groups; only religion distinguishes them."

To begin with, the Business Week piece doesn't focus on the Jewishness of neoconservatives in high office, it merely names them. Are we supposed to understand these officials are above criticism because they are Jewish?
---------------------------------

I am NOT anti-semitic, I am aware of Pat Buchanan's twisted views, but nonetheless, he is reaching out to conservatives and asking them to reject the Bush administration. The world needs that right now.

Please don't email me anymore, thank you.
