Pelosi has nerve questioning general(Columbus Dispatch, April 9, 2008)Gen. David Petraeus, the U.S. commander in Iraq, is testifying before Congress this week, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was quoted as telling the general to not mislead anyone about what is happening in Iraq.
Can you imagine the gall of that statement? Petraeus is an honorable man and a true patriot.
Pelosi and others of her ilk, such as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., are nothing more than liberal, big-spending do-gooders who want to see the United States defeated in Iraq and wave the surrender flag to al-Qaida. They are beyond pathetic. Shame on them.
JACK DUFFY
Speaking of "beyond pathetic", I assume that the Dispatch was so short on thoughtful letters that they were forced to publish this burst of drivel instead.
As a load of Fox-News-Hannity-Limbaugh BS, this idiocy is barely worth commenting on, but the especially silly "big spender" charge caught my attention. Does Mr. Duffy realize that
half of our current national debt of $9 trillion was accumulated by bush and a Republican Congress in just seven years, after it took 42 presidents over 200 years to rack up the first half? Does he know that the last 3 Republican presidents are responsible for
70% of that debt?Of course he doesn't. He's a foolish dupe like all the rest, unaware he is being lied to and believing every word on Fox. Folks, I give you the 28%.
