How many have participated in the Doonesbury poll?

We don't have a watercooler, but we do have a statistically meaningless weekly Straw Poll. Help us shape a sense of the Site on vital and semi-vital topics of the day. You're here, so you might as well vote. Don't let others define you.

With Hillary Clinton garnering strong support among women and Latino voters, and Barack Obama leading with African-Americans, pundits see white men as the key swing voters in the current Democratic primaries. Plus a white-guy swing to the Dems in the 2006 midterms may now be in reverse. With an apology to readers left out in the winter cold, let's assess the DTH WG vote.

Hey, White Guy, who you voting for?

* Obama. Yes, I've been listening to the Kool-aid. But that doesn't mean I've drunk it.

* Hillary. SNL had it right: Bitch is the new black. She's the one. Plus we get the other one.

* McCain. Thanks for including white guy Republican-Americans in this poll for a change. It's nice to know our click-throughs are appreciated.

Truthiness:
* Actually a white guy
* Actually a not-white guy
* Actually a woman

And the bad news is
Doonesbury' Comic Taking a 12-Week Break Starting This Month

By Dave Astor

Published: March 05, 2008 4:20 PM ET

NEW YORK "Doonesbury" cartoonist Garry Trudeau will be taking a 12-week vacation from his comic, Universal Press Syndicate announced this afternoon.

"It has been 16 years since Garry Trudeau took an extended leave from 'Doonesbury,'" said Universal President Lee Salem in a statement. "He has requested another break -- well-deserved in my mind -- to work on other projects, travel, and regenerate a few creative cells."

Salem added that the break will last from Sunday, March 23, to Monday, June 16, and that Trudeau "looks forward to resuming the strip before the two major political conventions and the general election."
