Congress to decide on whether to refer Clemens
By Howard Fendrich, The Associated Press

WASHINGTON — Roger Clemens should know by the end of the week if Congress will ask the Justice Department to investigate whether the star pitcher or his accuser made false statements under oath.

Clemens' lawyer says they knew long ago that is where things probably were headed.

The majority and minority sides of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee met Tuesday to discuss how to proceed on the Clemens matter.

"I can't say anything about discussions today," Phil Schiliro, chief of staff for committee chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press. "Our goal is a decision this week."

1. The screwed up priorities of a Democratic Congress
Who cares if he gave false testimony under oath? Who cares about a bunch of baseball players with a "macho" complex that they feed with steroids and other drugs to feel better, play better, and more importantly look better and then probably drop dead sooner-than-expectd from? It's their bodies.

Henry Waxman should be more concerned with the ongoing situation of the "false testimony" of the Bush Administration. But this of course is meant to be a diversion. To assure us that the priorities of the Democratic Congress reflect the priorities of the American people.

When does he believe it would be appropriate to hold impeachment hearings? The day after the administration has left office?

Is there something in the water in California? This follows Nancy Pelosi and her table and Dianne Feinstein and her fawning. What next? Maxine Waters announcing that she will join Nancy Reagan and George W Bush on a nationwide "Just Say No" tour to discourage our sports heroes, most of them absolute zeroes in reality, from using steroids?

3. There is Don Siegelman rotting in jail because of the Bush Crime Family and they are worried about
steroids. This calls for a monumental calling party to Congress!!!!!!
