In Case You Missed It - The Real Kerry
http://www.gopteamleader.com/myissues/view_issue.asp?id=1491

ONE of the surest ways to get the phones ringing on any Massachusetts talk-radio show is to ask people to call in and tell their John Kerry stories. The phone lines are soon filled, and most of the stories have a common theme: our junior senator pulling rank on one of his constituents, breaking in line, demanding to pay less (or nothing) or ducking out before the bill arrives.

The tales often have one other common thread. Most end with Sen. Kerry inquiring of the lesser mortal: "Do you know who I am?"

And now he's running for president as a populist. His first wife came from a Philadelphia Main Line family worth $300 million. His second wife is a pickle-and-ketchup heiress.

Kerry lives in a mansion on Beacon Hill on which he has borrowed $6 million to finance his campaign. A fire hydrant that prevented him and his wife from parking their SUV in front of their tony digs was removed by the city of Boston at his behest.

1. still sounds classier than bush
still, it's good to see them tip their hand as to how they'll portray him should he win the nomination.

2. Howie Carr is a mean spirited nasty
person without any redeeming qualities. He prints half truths and elaborates on them. The nastier the better he thinks. No one takes him seriously. I have been in Mass for 39 years and never heard any of that crap about Kerry. But the republicans are that way lie, lie, lie then lie again.

4. That should be a difficult position to take,
..especially considering Bush isn't exactly Joe Common Man either. It seems hypocrital of the Bush campaign to try to imply Kerry is too rich for the job, yet I can picture the ads right now..A shot of Kerry at a black tie dinner party, then a shoo of Bush in a cowboy hat and jeans talking to a rancher, looking concerned for his well-being...lol

3. As opposed to George "Bootstrap" Bush?
Edited on Thu Feb-05-04 06:32 PM by hatrack
Born the seventh child to a poor Oklahoma sharecropper family, George W. Bush walked to a one-room school where he not only maintained the highest GPA in the history of Pig Knuckle, Oklahoma, but also milked the school cow, mucked out its stall, collected chicken eggs and graded papers in his spare time to earn 3 extra cents a week.

Before going home for his daily meal of dirt, grass and bird shit, Ol' Bootstrap would chop wood for hours on end, since the vigorous physical exercise made it easier for him to forget his hunger pangs.

The only birthday present George W. Bush ever received arrived when he was seven years old - a bundle of old newspapers that fell off a truck. Not disappointed at not getting the cowboy boots he was dreaming of, George threw a party for everyone at Pig Knuckle Elementary and used his present to make funny paper hats for all the children, who at least briefly were able to forget their lives of grinding poverty and random terror . . .

Oh, and fuck Howie Carr. He's Dave Egan fifty years on.

5. Howie Carr is Boston's career slimball . . .
who has been hammering Kerry for the better part of a quarter century . . . notice that Kerry is still in office, however . . . tells you something about Carr's influence . . .
