GUARDIAN: U.S. corporate elite fear candidate Edwards (& what they think of Clinton, Obama, & GOP)
This is really about all America needs to know about the upcoming election.

If people knew who really called the shots, they wouldn't bother to protest at the capitol or federal buildings; they'd just go to the Chamber of Commerce where the decisions are really made.

Asked which candidate their clients most support, corporate lobbyists were unsure. Clinton has cautious backing within the corporate jet set, as do Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain and former Republican Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, they said.

These candidates represent stability to executives who have much to lose if November's election brings about the sweeping change some candidates are promising.

Obama and Huckabee register largely as unknown quantities among business owners, both large and small, say lobbyists.

"My sense is that Obama would govern as a reasonably pragmatic Democrat ... I think Hillary is approachable. She knows where a lot of her funding has come from, to be blunt," said Greg Valliere, chief political strategist at Stanford Group Co., a market and policy analysis group.

But Edwards, Valliere said, is seen as "an anti-business populist" and "a trade protectionist who is quite unabashed about raising taxes."

3. Edwards is NOT anti-business
He's anti-fascist corporation.

That's like saying pro-choice is the same as pro-abortion.

5. Also he is not planning to raise taxes on the vast majority of this country
he is planning to raise taxes on the wealthiest 10% of this nation his plan is to take those tax hikes on the rich to benefit the vast middle classes. It is obscene that there men worth billions of dollars while in the middle people have to work two jobs to survive.

6. correct
Corporate propagandists will try to turn what he is saying into "anti-business" to scare small business owners and stampede them away from Edwards.

4. Yet another to read the two dialies I love from Blighty: Guardian and Independent to see what is
actually happening in the USA!

We don't even get any but cursory coverage of the continuing near ethnic war in Kenya! On the Middle East we get Kristol in NY, but in London, Fisk via Beirut!
