Camille Paglia on Hillary - warning - not a love note
As her husband has dragged his numerous female play objects before her and has humiliated her on the public stage year after year, she still stays within the marriage.

7. Camille...
it's a Christian thing called "forgiveness" or is it unChristian? When a husband cheats, a wife usually kicks her man to the curb...don't get angry..get everything...like Ivana said...So Hillary did the Christian thing...what? not Jesus enough for ya'...

2. Camille Paglia hates women ... so what else is new?
I'm still not voting for Clinton, but Camille Paglia is still a faux liberal misogynist imho.

5. Eh, Camille has jumped the shark. She needs to get OFF that horse and stop
dissecting people's personal relationships--otherwise, someone just might just turn that white-hot spotlight on HER sorry ass. Strip away the specifics, and she sounds like she's talking about....herself!

That's probably the most obvious assassination job I've seen for awhile. The cretin should try to be a bit subtle.

6. Camille Paglia: right wing propaganda mouthpiece with a twist
of lesbianism sado-masochism and dominance.

"There is one area in which I think Paglia and I would agree that politically correct feminism has produced a noticeable inequity. Nowadays, when a woman behaves in a hysterical and disagreeable fashion, we say, "Poor dear, it's probably PMS." Whereas, if a man behaves in a hysterical and disagreeable fashion, we say, "What an asshole." Let me leap to correct this unfairness by saying of Paglia, Sheesh, what an asshole"

The late and much missed Molly Ivins.

Paglia's claims of being a Democrat and a feminist are specious and appear to be part of her general approach of gaming everything she does in public.

How many times is this right wing crap going to be reposted on DU?

8. Did Obama solicit Paglia's endorsement?
because she apparently hates women. Parse this one sentence until you understand the inference

"Hillary's staff has always consisted mostly of adoring women, with nerdy or geeky guys forming an adjunct brain trust."

9. Man, that was harsh.
I do fear how much people would make it all about Bill - or how Bill would metaphorically drop the good crystal just to get the attention back on him - but I'd like to think I could say that without getting so hostile about Hill, Bill and Gloria Steinham.

Sometimes it's enough to win a debate with your adversaries. It's not really necessary to have them drawn and quartered on the town square, too.

12. I would like to 2nd, 3rd, and 5th most of the remarks re: Camille
Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 07:25 PM by TalkingDog
If she hated heterosexual women any more, she would make for a passable Republican man.

No, I did not RTFA, but having attempted "Feminine Persona" I get the drift: An intriguing premise that is followed by pages of bitter, bile-filled screed instead of a deconstruction and critical analysis of her thesis.

Am I close?

Ugh...just make it go away.

13. I don't give a shit about their marriage
While I'm NOT a fan of Hillary's, I must say that all of the attention given to her marriage, etc. just makes me tired. Her marriage is IRRELEVANT to the job she would do as President. . .

16. To be fair do you say the same thing about Rudy, McCain
and Thompson?

By the way I think the writer of this piece is despicable.

17. Unfortunately...

Hillary herself made her marriage very pertinent to the election by both her and Bill stating she was a close adviser to him.

The whole "Two for one" thing.

Personally I think it was a horrible mistake to tout it, because it leaves the door open to things like this editorial.

I don't care for another Clinton presidency, we need to focus on issues - not pillow talk.

(Edited to add, the editorial piece made me sick to my stomach. If you are going to dissect someone, be prepared for the same treatment.)

He's been a registered Democrat for decades, doesn't mean I'd piss on the guy if he were on fire.
