Bush Protester Arrested for Carrying Sign
Thomas C. Frazier works as investigator in the prosecutor's office of the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the anti-pollution agency in Orange County and the surrounding area.

Last October 16, he decided to take the day off to go to San Bernardino from his home in Santa Ana. His purpose, he says, was "to engage in a legal and peaceful protest" against George W. Bush. The President was in town that day at the Radisson Hotel and Convention Center to support the candidacy of now-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

.

He then reached into the trunk of his 1987 Volkswagen Jetta and took out his homemade sign. It had two cardboard posterboards attached to a wooden base. One side said, "Shock & Awe" = "Maim & Murder" and the other said, "Indict Bush-Crimes Against Humanity." He also took with him some bumperstickers that said, "Stop the Madness."

Walking out of the parking lot, "I was confronted by a charging police officer (later identified as Officer John Montecino)," Frazier wrote in a complaint he filed with the San Bernardino Police Department. "For no apparent reason, Officer Montecino raced towards me screaming, 'No, no, no, no. Get there, Get there!' "
Shortly thereafter, "without any provocation, Officer Montecino then grabbed my sign by enveloping my arms and sign together in one rapid swoop," Frazier wrote.

2. threatened?
The story states the officer felt "personally" threatened by the sign. I can hardly believe that this officer thought a protestor was intending to harm him with the sign but that is what the police are asking us to believe.

More likely he was politically threatened.

Good luck to you, Thomas Frazier. I have a feeling you're going to win this one.

4. Officer Montecino should be FIRED, stripped of his pension, prosecuted,

and sent to prison. And when the Dems get back in, let's hope they have the guts to do that.

The only way to keep crooked Rethug cops like Montecino from stealing our liberties is to fire and prosecute them if they do so -- thus removing them from the force, deterring others like them, and letting potential recruits like them know that if they manage to get hired and step over the line, they too will go to prison.

People died for our liberties. Let Montecino and his like go to prison for trying to steal them.

And the same goes for the shyster prosecutor who refuses to drop the charges. If Mr. Frazier can be prosecuted for doing the right thing (exercising his constitional rights), let the shyster prosecutor be sent to prison for doing the wrong thing.

And the same goes for vote thieves like Katherine Harris, James Baker, and Jeb and George Bu$h.

P.S: The one good thing about the illegitimate Bu$h regime is that many of the fascists on our police forces, in the Secret Service and FBI, on the Supreme Court, and in the government have identified themselves by joining the Bu$h gang to steal our liberties -- now that we know who they are, we should PURGE them as soon as we get back in power. Because if we don't, they'll lie in wait -- waiting for the next Bu$h-type fascist takeover.
