Chinese IT majors woo India
Wednesday, Sep 26, 2007

NEW DELHI: Chinese information technology majors are looking up to their well established counterparts in India for technical and training support to give a boost to their IT and IT-enabled services (ITeS) industry. They not only want Indian companies to share technical expertise with them but also help set up IT education centres and train their executives on business process outsourcing (BPO), in which India is the world-leader.

Chinese companies are so keen to join hands with Indian companies that in the recently concluded Northeast Asia Hi-Tech Fair at Shenyang in China, nine cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU) were signed between Chinese and Indian IT companies.

“The event turned about to be successful for Indian IT and ITeS companies.

The India Pavilion at the fair got more than 150 business queries, some of which are now at the advanced stage of formalisation,” said the India-China Alliance Centre’s (ICAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Piyush Bahl.

2. you don't have much experience, then....
I'm hoping your post wasn't about Indian advanced degrees....since Indian Institute of Science degrees have compared quite favorably against the MITs in America...for years.....

5. MIT -vs- IIT ?
uh, maybe IIT has been around since the late 60's... but to compare IIT to MIT is quite fetching. Look, I know that IIT does have some excellent minds, certainly among some of the brightest on this revolving sphere, and I'm not here to discredit the quality. To compare the advances we all enjoy from MIT research to that of the likes of IIT is way off. Sure IIT has offered some advances in semiconductor research; MIT has flooded the world with advances of all areas of technologies for decades.

Maybe you can backup your statement with some actual tidbit of fact?

6. It takes three indians to do the work of one american programmer
in my experience. It is mostly due to the slight language barrier and lack of creativity. (Indians write some pretty sloppy code) I can only imagine how bad the communication would be with Chinese programmers. :scared:
