Certain events in life can leave a person feeling conflicted. Think of high school graduations, weddings and break-ups and, of course, Karl Rove's announced resignation. There's a little bit of joy, and a jolt of kidney-punch pain associated with Rove's departure as Bushie's top adviser

It's swell that he's leaving, but it would have been better had he never advised the Bushes, G.H. and G.W., in the first place. And so begins the bittersweet monthlong goodbye of the man known alternately at "Turd Blossom" and "Bush's Brain" -- two names one could argue are not mutually exclusive....more
