NY Times: Congress should impeach Gonzalez if Special Prosecutor isn't appointed

Mr. Gonzales’s Never-Ending Story - July 29

President Bush often insists he has to be the decider — ignoring Congress and the public when it comes to the tough matters on war, terrorism and torture, even deciding whether an ordinary man in Florida should be allowed to let his wife die with dignity. Apparently that burden does not apply to the functioning of one of the most vital government agencies, the Justice Department. . .

. . .Democratic lawmakers are asking for a special prosecutor to look into Mr. Gonzales’s words and deeds. Solicitor General Paul Clement has a last chance to show that the Justice Department is still minimally functional by fulfilling that request.

If that does not happen, Congress should impeach Mr. Gonzales. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/29/opinion/29sun1.html?hp

3. I would agree IF I believed the Senate would do that, but I don't!
The Pubs will stick together and the'd never get the 60 votes to remove Gonzo! THEN he would think he can do whatever he wants because nobody can touch him!

5. Nobody can touch anybody in the bush administration
what are you talking about. Even the democratic congress won't do anything. Knowing full well that the AG would not carry out the contempt citations, they dumb bunch in congress instead of voting for inherent contempt, knowing bush couldn't stop it, why in the hell did they vote for plain contempt. This just shows they are like the website "allhatnocattle".

4. This Entire Thing Is Astonishing
Bush has castrated Congress, and now is mooning them.

And Congress is letting him do it.

Feh. We're being triangulated into oblivian.

8. Did I miss an announcement that Cheney was the one who sent Gonzales

to Ashcroft's hospital room? That's what this article says and it's the first time I've heard it. Gonzales refused to answer the question many times.
