...Damon Wells, 25, was sitting on his own porch Saturday night. It's a long, narrow gray porch with a wicker chair at the end. The house sits near Kinsman Road and East 134th Street in Cleveland.

He was minding his own when two teens tried to rob him. The plan backfired. When Wells saw one kid pull a gun, he drew his own Smith & Wesson and blasted away...

The Smith & Wesson could be credited for saving Wells' life, but it didn't protect his home.

After the shooting, someone smashed in his front windows. The house looks deserted now, with sheets of plywood nailed over the windows and front door...

Anger follows front-porch shooting

The .40-caliber handgun that Damon Wells carried legally for defense may not be enough to protect him and his home.

Sunday night, a day after Wells shot and killed a 15-year-old who threatened him with a gun on his porch, Wells' home was under siege. Now the doors and windows on his house are boarded up...

let's honor a gangster. he should have shot both, then the gun would have been found there. guess you don't have a right to protect yourself or your property anymore.

If you are going to go around committing crimes, you may pay with your life. I wonder if the young boy's 'friends' would have been happier if he had shot and killed the man he was trying to rob...

...He had a permit to carry his gun, and he had the gun on him when a pair of teenage thieves approached him Saturday night on his front porch.

When one of the youths pulled a gun, Wells whipped out his and shot one of the boys multiple times in the chest, police said...

City prosecutors decided Monday that Wells, 25, was justified and would not be charged for what appears to be the first time a concealed-carry permit holder has shot and killed an attacker....

2. Did Mr. Wells even need a permit to carry the gun on his own property?
Here in California a permit is not required, and a homeowner would be justified in shooting both robbers the moment either of them produces a deadly weapon (even a knife).

California has had a robust Castle Doctrine since the state was founded. I hope someone can educate me about Ohio.

4. Let me be the first to agree.
There are far too many thug culture sympathizers out there, and they need to called to account.
