Arizona Republic Editorial: McCain serving 2 masters
Oops...when the folks at home don't like you either...

Sen. John McCain's campaign for the GOP presidential nomination has pulled him away from Washington so often that the Arizona Republican has missed one out of three roll-call votes this session.

That's more than any other senator, except for one sidelined by a brain hemorrhage. That's far more than the senators vying for the Democratic presidential nomination: Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have missed just three votes each.

...snip...

But the business of Congress goes beyond casting votes. We expect our senators to track issues and participate in key negotiations, jobs that are best done in the Capitol.

...snip...

McCain has to sharpen his fundraising strategy to stay in the game. It's a good opportunity, as well, to make sure he's spending his time most effectively for constituents.
