War contractors settle in Manatee
Accused of fraud in Iraq, ex-partners happy in Lakewood Ranch

By TODD RUGER

~snip~
Then they were featured as war profiteers on a segment of "60 Minutes," based on the accusations in a whistle-blower lawsuit.

A jury found that they cheated the U.S.-led coalition government in Iraq out of millions of dollars. A second whistle-blower case was headed to trial.

And then the fraud cases went away totally.

A judge overturned the jury's verdict against them because the coalition government -- not the U.S. government -- was the victim. The same judge threw out the other lawsuit as well on another defense motion, saying there was no proof of fraud.

So instead of having to pay back $10 million in restitution and fines, they are raising their children near relatives in Southwest Florida and starting new businesses.

2. Florida and Texas are deadbeat states

tells you something, doesn't it? Poppy claims Texas residency so he doesn't have to pay income tax in Maine, despite the fact that his presence here in the Summer puts a burden on the tax payers of the State to protect his slimy coterie from due justice.

4. Poppy spends just enough time in Texas
to qualify for residency, in the Winter of course. God forbid he should have to suffer the heat of Summer there with the REAL Texans.

7. Even worse trying just to go for a meal when then baastids were "in residence."
Ya just wanna smack 'em. They ruined the view there with that idiotic fence and guard house. But that's what assholes do--they block the view that everyone enjoyed for centuries before.

8. We ate at a local dive there
had to stare at all of the fawning propaganda posters. The prices are atrocious, the food barely passed muster and service was more arrogant than France.
