The Window Is Closing

As Congress and the Senate contemplate President Bush’s new Iraq war plan of escalation, the window of opportunity to get out of Iraq is closing. Bush himself is trying to push down the sash, as is crystal clear by his speech last week and the ensuing actions at the Iranian embassy in Iraq the next morning.

We don’t need another cooked-up war.

Neither does the world.

You can have globalization without shifting hard-earned dollars from the middle and lower classes into the hands of mega-corporate monsters. Profits and incomes can be derived without resorting to destruction.

Instead of the new century built upon construction, brotherhood, and decency, the screws have been turned in the opposite direction. Getting the rich richer, the poor poorer, destroying the little guys, destroying their infrastructures, decimating hidebound laws, destroying freedom, and glorifying a house of lies.

We let it happen.

We trounced on the principles that made us great.

Now, the greatest sin will be to let it continue.

1. Greatest little paper in the country. Has never hesitated to call bush**

and his handlers out on their crimes.

2. The democrats are trying but, need to get enough repubs. to go with them.

I feel many people do not understand this. They think it's a matter of just say so or take money away. It does not work like that. If they cut the money now, Bush would still have enough money to drag this on for a long while.
Plus, in order for them to get the needed votes to pass any resolution, they need 10 republicans to go with them.

5. Bush has already proved he doesn't need appropriations

He will either raid the SS fund, or go further into debt. The only solution is to impeach Bush/Cheney ASAP!

I think we should just break the window......then * can "close" it all he wants. He probably wouldn't even notice!
