19th Annual Awards for the year's worst reporting - 2006
Welcome to the Media Research Center’s annual awards issue, a compilation of the most outrageous and/or humorous news media quotes from 2006 (December 2005 through November 2006). To determine this year’s winners, a panel of 58 radio talk show hosts, magazine editors, columnists, editorial writers and media observers each selected their choices for the first, second and third best quote from a slate of five to eight quotes in each category. First place selections were awarded three points, second place choices two points, with one point for the third place selections. Point totals are listed in the brackets at the end of the attribution for each quote. Each judge was also asked to choose a "Quote of the Year" denoting the most outrageous quote of 2006.

Perhaps you could explain to me why we need this at DU?

4. Know thine enemy!
It's interesting to me that they appear to be defending oil companies and I was surprised how much msm reporting there was on gas price issues that illuded to or flat out said that something is going on with this issue.

6. Christ on a waffle! No bias here, nuh-uh.
In addition to those judges we also have:

L. Brent Bozell III, President of the Media Research Center. a wack job if there ever was one.

Midge Decter, author and long-time antifeminist loon.

John Fund, columnist for OpinionJournal.com, Bush apologist talking head.

Mike Gallagher, syndicated radio host, Fox News contributor, and nasty piece of work.

Lucianne Goldberg, publisher of Lucianne.com Media, Inc., Clinton-hater, good buddy of Linda Tripp, and mother of the egregious Jonah Goldberg.

Jason Lewis, talk show host, KTLK in Minneapolis, the FM News Talk, offensive Rush Limbaugh wannabe.

Kate O’Beirne, Washington Editor of National Review, and awful, horrible bucktoothed right-wing harpy.

James Taranto, Editor of OpinionJournal.com, one of the Wall Street Urinal's most biased editorial writers.

Cal Thomas, syndicated columnist; panelist on FNC’s Fox Newswatch, who is even worse than Taranto, if that's possible.

But no; there's not a biased bone in any of their bodies. :sarcasm: All we need here is AnnThrax Coulter and we'd have the ultimate collection of frothing fascist wackjobs masquerading as reputable pundits and journalists. :puke:
