Bush's Nose is Growing; Nobody Cares -- (On The OTHER Recent Bush Lie)
It has been exactly one week since the Washington Post ran a page one story quoting U.S. President George W. Bush as saying that the reason the U.S., "along with other nations,'' invaded Iraq was because its brutal vicious dictator would not permit any weapons inspections.

Here is the quote, from Bush's news conference with U.N. secretary general Kofi Annan, which CNN ran live last Monday. (The italicized emphasis is mine.)

Asked about those infamous 16 words in his State of the Union Address about Iraq shopping in Niger for yellowcake uranium, the leader of the free world replied: "The larger point is and the fundamental question is, did Saddam Hussein have a weapons program? And the answer is absolutely. And we gave him a chance to allow the inspectors in, and he wouldn't let them in. And, therefore, after a reasonable request, we decided to remove him from power ..."

So yes kids! We were all hallucinating when we watched news footage of reporters chasing U.N. weapons inspectors around Iraq last winter. Those were but voices in our collective head when we heard pleas from the likes of Prime Minister Jean Chrétien and former weapons inspector Scott Ritter to allow the digging around to continue. And we must have all swallowed a giant tab of yellowcake when we read the news of U.N. weapons inspectors scrambling to beat a path out of Baghdad on the eve of the Shock & Awe bombing campaign.

So ask yourself: How come the commander-in-chief shoots from the lip once again and nobody is talking about it?

2. And yet, another cover-up..............
9-11 hijackers were Saudi's, so why is the Bush administration letting the Saudi Government off the hook??
Here's another question the prick needs to answer!

3. Some lies
Some lies are so obvious that they are just beneath refuting.

This one is a fine example of such a case.

4. does anyone have audio
I heard shrub say this on either NPR or the BBC world service. But now as I search I can't locate any audio. Interesting though, I have found numerous references to the news conference on sites like CNN and CBSnews, they "report" on his defense of the SOTU speech but they have completely ignored his rewriting of history.
Anyway, if any one has this or can point me to audio or video of shrub saying this, I want to make an mp3 of it and post it (not to mention send it out on kazaa)

5. Actually
The quote came from a Washington Post article. I don't know if the reporters taped it (they probably did), but the article just kind of glossed over it. Yeah, that liberal media sure does make a lot of mean attacks against Bush.... :eyes:

6. The underlying problem here
is that if George Bush isn't totally scripted for every second of his public appearances, his ignorance invariably shows through. This president simply doesn't care about anything other than pushing through more tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. And that's pretty damn sad.

7. I guess
I wasn't clear in my post. I didn't just hear the story reported, I heard bush making the statement. My understanding is that CNN carried the press conference live.

8. WH running scared- theyve had their minions all over every talk show
saying its nothing, we did a good thing, he was a tyrant-
so what there were no WMC and then the announcement
came tonight that Cheney himsel;f is going to give a
speech on WMD tomorrow

as if that's going to stop it. Nothing is going to stop
it. not now..too many cover-ups..too many threats made at
people telling the truth...full fledged investigation going
to come out of this

PS when he was on tv with Kofi ANnan at WH was when he said
Saddam wouldn't let inspectors back in.

Duh. someone better ask Hans Blix what he was doing there
just before the bombs started dropping?
