CLEVELAND -- The SWAT team swarmed an east side neighborhood Saturday afternoon, looking for a man wanted for alledgedly shooting at a police officer.
Following a tip, the SWAT team stormed several vacant houses on Amor Avenue, near East 105th street, but came up empty-handed in their search for 28 year-old, Nathaniel Pate.
Pate is awaiting trial for attempted murder, felonious assault and other charges. Police arrested him last year after a shooting and carjacking in the Warehouse district. Pate has been on the run for six months after failing to show up for court.
"Not only has he shot at police officers, he has shot at innocent victims," said Cleveland police spokesman, Sgt. Daniel Fay. "We know that this gentleman walks around with a bullet proof vest 24 hours a day. It's time for us to try and get this guy off the street," Fay said.

First they let this asshole out on a bond, then they use him as an excuse to go house to house, and perform a full armored assualt on a whole neighborhood, complete with black armored assualt vehicle. The news says that all the buildings are abandoned, but logic translates it into - 'Low income neighborhood'. Nothing about 'warrants' or damage of resident's property is mentioned.
