Days as congressional page shaped Reno grad

WASHINGTON -- Tyler Rogers was working as a congressional page in the U.S. House of Representatives' cloakroom when terrorists struck on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Reno High School graduate said his experiences that day and in the months that followed changed his life.

"It made me fall in love with the city and the values the city and the country were founded on," he said, referring to the nation's capital.

But a dark cloud now hovers over the page program, brought on by the scandal involving former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley of Florida, who sent sexually explicit messages via the Internet to former House pages.
