'Staying course' in Iraq won't get troops home

Her bravery earned the admiration of the American people, and her sacrifice earned our devoted gratitude. She was the first Arizonan to lose her life in this war. Sadly, she was not the last.
The attacks on our troops continue, and the White House still has no plan to win this war and bring them home. I believe that we need to do everything possible to support our troops, but I think the best support we can provide is to get them home safely.
The mess in Iraq is the result of arrogance, weak leadership and poor decision-making. The Bush administration policy has been driven by polls and ideology. They had hoped we would be greeted as liberators. But instead we were greeted with firefights and terrorist attacks.
The White House had no plan to respond. And they still don't.
During the assault on Baghdad, all of us marveled at the bold advance of the Army and Marines. The U.S. military was ready for war, but the White House was not ready for peace. More...
