STEVEN SREBRENICK: Mocking The Founding Fathers
The first in an ongoing analysis of Frank Zappa's writings in the book, The Real Frank Zappa Book, by Frank Zappa, published in 1989

Compilation and additional commentary provided by Steven Srebrenick -- World News Trust

Starting with a little background as to the motivation here, Frank Zappa, father, son, music an, composer, writer, artist, avid cigarette smoker and coffee drinker, wrote a book that has been kicking me in the head over the past few weeks as I eek through the pages in serious analysis. I'm taking an intense look into the writings of the guy who wrote songs like: "Crew Slut," "Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?" "Valley Girl," "Jewish Princess," "Don't Eat The Yellow Snow," "Catholic Girls," "Dong Work For Yuda," and a whole lot more. Each and every one of those songs as well as just about everything in his entire musical catalogue, video and film work, and his entire being were reminders of just how ridiculous as a society, and unfortunately, as human beings, we act.

This is an autobiography laced with stories and tales of the adventure of an American musician. This is Frank's Journey, his perspective -- his way of doing stuff. He was all- too- on- the- money about many contemporary issues, and that is why his reminder than we are being huckstered by our leaders -- and that this is something that is not new and is still a problem -- is of utmost importance.

Many of the issues that will be raised in the series were prevalent in the 1980s as that is when Frank wrote this book, but also in 2006 and beyond as far I can see. In essence we have not progressed but, in many cases, are moving backward as a nation. This will eventually lead to our demise as a world power if we do not do something about it soon.

I will be taking liberties in that I will not be presenting this chronologically because pertinent issues need to be mentioned before others since this is a comparison from the 1980s to now.
