Bob Herbert tells Dems to grow a pair...
To get the whole column online, you've got to be a New York Times Select member, but Daily Kos published some excerpts:

Bob Herbert: Time for Democrats to "Mix it Up!"
by lowkell

Thu May 11, 2006 at 07:21:56 AM PDT

Bob Herbert, writing in today's New York Times, says it's time for Democrats to stop sucking their thumbs, "climb up off the couch," and kick some serious Republican ass! Well, actually, Herbert doesn't use the word "ass," but he does have some sharp words for Democrats:

lowkell's diary :: ::
I have no more patience with this perennially pathetic patient, this terminally timid Democrat who continues to lie cowering and trembling on the analyst's couch, wondering why the Demolition Derby Republicans control virtually all of the levers of power in the United States.
The Democrats are thinking too much and doing too little. This is a party in need of a moxie transplant. It's time for the patient to climb off the couch, walk outside and mix it up with the gang that has made a complete and utter mess of the country that was entrusted to it.

Stop bitchin about the dems. and give some critiques of what they should do. We all know there is some lack of backbone, but why then is there so much hand wringing when Howard Dean or Russ Feingold make strong statements? Call reps. and senators, talk to friends and family do something yourself, some of us are. Thanks for the edit, but as a matter of fact John Dean does seem to help our cause. I read the times here on Long Island so I'll get it soon.
