If His Words Are His Bond, We're in a Bind -- Huffington
Quick, somebody get the Bush White House a copy of "All the President's Men." A slow drip, drip, drip of incremental revelations and long-overdue admissions is not the way to stem a brewing scandal.

But that's exactly the approach the administration is taking with the firestorm arising from the president's Misstatement of the Union fiasco, a.k.a. Yellowcake-gate.

Suddenly everyone is asking: What didn't the president know, and why didn't he know it? And why does he know less and less every day?

The White House's handling of the yellowcake-uranium-from-Niger deception has been atrocious, and its attempts to spin the aftershocks have been even worse. The White House just doesn't seem to grasp the concept that, when you're sending American soldiers to die, the reasons given – all of the reasons – should be true.

2. Ah, yes
I hope commentaries like this are hitting the newspapers. My newspaper has run a few 'Bush lied' commentaries over the past couple of days. I'm getting a letter to the editor published calling the Bush administration incompetent and liars.

The thing about this is that many of us knew this before the war. I was reading www.yellowtimes.org regularly at the time and they were publishing articles by a former nuclear scientist for Hussein's regime who had intimate knowledge of the regime's nuclear program. He said it was dismantled in 1996 due to cost and I think inspections. Why didn't Bush rely on the testimony of this man. Hell, he didn't even have to ask, it was right out there for the world to see. The only conclusion is that Bush wanted the war no matter if Iraq wasn't a threat. Then we have to look at motives. What was the war really about Mr. Bush? Well I guess we really can't expect a straight answer out of him. But back in 1998 his buddies that were then in the PNAC were saying that it was about securing the world's oil resources. Could that be the reason? What will the history books say about the reason for this war?
