“Darn good” U.S. intelligence isn’t good enough.

Most of what the White House officials knew or thought they knew about Saddam’s suspected WMD was based on outdated or faulty information, according to recent news reports. The president’s Jan. 20 State of the Union speech included the allegation that Iraq was trying to obtain uranium from Niger for a nuclear weapons program. After the speech, the U.S. provided “supporting” documents to the United Nations. The International Atomic Energy Agency determined in a matter of weeks that the documents had been forged.

Those 16 erroneous words represent one of many reasons why Congress should conduct a full investigation of U.S. intelligence gathering and how the president’s top advisers used or manipulated intelligence reports in the run-up to this year’s Iraq war.

2. To fix the Credibility Gap... an overhaul is required. Top to Bottom
Americans need to see what the hell went down and soon too. Right now, Bush is looking like crap/
