Destroying Al Queda
In order to get rid of a problem you have to get to the source. Find Zarqawi and his associates and you will see a diminished insurgency in Iraq.

1. Hi Bobbieo
welcome to DU :hi:
Someone else would simply take his place. either by "Al Qaeda's" choosing or by the BFEE.

BTW I think this should probably be in the General Discussion group.

2. Find the source is a good idea
but that source isn't an individual, but rather a philosophy. It is important to understand what exactly created the terrorist organizations that hide behind religion. Part of it is the ascention of fundamentalism in the form of Wahhabism, part of it is a reaction against Western policy in the Middle East, and our tendency to prop up repressive governments.

3. Strange how nobody ever talked about Zarqawi until things
got bad in Iraq. Never the less, even if they captured Zarqawi you can bet that we would start hearing about another Zarqawi right away.

Nice try.

4. Getting rid of Zarqawi
I don't think he would be replaced that quickly and I said Zarqawi and his ASSOCIATES. It took four years for bin Laden to train the 9/11 crew and it took time for him to find and train Zarqawi.

If yu'all are using that logic then why bother to impeach George Bush. Someone else just like him will take his place.

6. You missed the point. The actual existence of Zarqawi
is strongly in doubt.
