LTTE - Blaming Liberals for the Bush Debacle.
at the bottom of this link you will find a letter entitled "Last Straw?"

http://www.postgazette.com/pg/05309/601069.stm

"I have been scratching my head since the bungled 2000 election trying to figure out what it will take for liberals finally to wake up and start voting. Will budget-busting tax cuts for rich people do the trick? Nope. Even years of job losses, disastrous foreign and domestic policies, spiraling gas prices and the failure to find either Osama bin Laden or weapons of mass destruction all got big yawns from liberal voters. But maybe, just maybe, the last straw will be when President Bush uses the Samuel Alito nomination to turn the U.S. Supreme Court into the 700 Club. We shall see.

"

The writer blames liberals for the nightmare in our country...

Oh what a freaking joke. I am so mad at this I could scream. It was the liberals who were fighting them the entire time.

If anything it was the mushy middle centrist voter who couldn't decide which of the freaking presidential candidates was the "person I would like to have a beer" with that gave us this fucking nightmare.

The liberals have been always educated and alert....and we VOTE!!!

urgggghhhhhhh!!!!!!

1. Actually, my guess is that most who don't vote
are in fact a lot more liberal than they are conservative. Especially the 18-30 crowd- the largest non-voting segment of all.

2. The author has a valid point.
While democratic turnout was up the radical right wing also upped their turnout too, negating and surpassing the democratic/liberal/progressive turnout. They effectively marshalled conservative christian church resources to get out thier vote. They also worked quite effectively at getting hot-button issues (gay marriage) on state ballots which worked to get people to the polls. Essentially the republicans and conservatives out-hustled and out-smarted the democrats. Chairman Dean is working to change that. I hope he is effective.

5. that's the way I saw it too
I think the writer is addressing the majority of Americans who actually agree with liberal policies but do not vote

3. I think he was making the point
that if (election fraud notwithstanding) liberals had voted *bush wouldn't be president. I think he means get up and do something before it's way too late. I think it's his way of rallying the troops. Finally, I don't think he knows what really happened and isn't a du member.:)

4. 30% Bush, 29.9% Kerry, and 60% non-vote or didn't have vote counted
That's why I think there was massive voter fraud during the 2000 AND 2004 elections.

Also, look see when CNN and PsyOps took place
www.counterpunch.org/cnnpsyops.html

Are they (the military and intell, via Operation Mockingbird) still catapulting the propaganda ?
